Because
there are many good local dog and cat breeders in the area, we prefer
not to offer puppies or kittens for sale in the store - our policy is
to direct our customers to these local breeders. We recommend that when
you are searching for a quality puppy or kitten, you visit the kennel
or cattery, examine one or both of the parents, and ask lots of questions of the breeder. A good breeder will interview you as much as you interview them! A good breeder will be PROUD to answer all of your questions. If a breeder is hesitant or secretive or the conditions are filthy – RUN! Do not purchase a pet from this breeder!
Our suggested questions include:
- How large can you expect this puppy/ kitten to get?
- What are the grooming requirements?
- What is the temperament of the parents, the breed?
- How much exercise does this puppy/ kitten need?
- Is this a good breed if you have small children?
- Is there a guarantee against genetic disorders?
- Will this make a good indoor pet or does it need a large yard?
- Is there a spay/neuter requirement on their pet-quality animals?

Is there a “grace period” during which you can take the pet to your own
veterinarian for an examination and can you return the pet for a full
refund if you are unhappy with the results of that examination?
When you visit the kennel/ cattery, check to see that the pets and the
entire area is clean. The puppies and kittens should have lots
of contact with the family so that they are properly socialized. Ask to
see the veterinary records for the parent(s) or get the name and
telephone number of the veterinarian they use regularly. You want to
know that the parents have been receiving regular veterinary care and
that all shots are up to date. (A breeder who refuses to share this
information may have something to HIDE.)

facilities, nor can we guarantee the good health of any pet you
purchase from these breeders. It is our intention only to list the
local breeders as a service to our customers.
Once you find your new pet please come back in and we will help you select the items you need to help ensure your pet grows up safe, happy, and healthy.

have puppies / kittens for sale occasionally or they have an animal
available for stud. NOTE: If you are looking for a puppy or kitten PLEASE DO NOT call the people who have animals available for stud!
