We are constantly training our salespeople,
re-merchandising and cleaning our store, looking for new and
interesting pet supplies, bringing in healthy exotic birds,
reptiles, fish, and small animals. Join us most weekends for
fun and whacky sales events.

something going on at B&B Pet Stop!
A few numbers you might find interesting:
28 years in Mobile (and counting!)... On average, 20
or more animals find homes each Thursday at our weekly pet
adoption event... We employ approximately 50
incredible local pet lovers on a full or part-time basis...
Last year over 400 pets got a rabies shot at one of
our in-store clinics... Over 800 reptiles
were sold last year… Over 1,500
children tour our store each year on field trips from
schools, churches, and daycare centers… 2,120 gallons
of saltwater aquariums containing 150 different
varieties of fish, invertebrates, and corals available at
all times… 5,500 gallons of freshwater aquariums with
over 300 varieties of fish available at all times…
Over 10,000 "Free Goldfish Coupons" were donated to
area schools, churches, and daycare centers… Over 12,000
small animals and birds sold last year... and 14,400
square feet of absolutely everything you possibly want for
your pet!
We do what we can to GIVE
BACK to the community. We passionately support the arts,
historic preservation, the Mobile County Public School
System, and many different animal causes. Helping to
make Mobile a better place to live benefits ALL of us!
In October of 1981, the Trufant family, led by Bill
Trufant, incorporated B&B Pet Stop, Inc. The original store
was a compact 600 square feet on Highway 43 in Saraland,
Alabama, operated by an equally compact staff consisting of
just the owners!
We found that most of our customers were driving up
to Saraland from Mobile, so in March 1982, we relocated to a
store (2400 square feet) in the Food World shopping center
at 2501 Government Boulevard in Mobile, Alabama.
Bigger and better! After several growth steps,
(longtime customers remember Azalea Road, Pleasant Valley,
and Hillcrest!) in September of 1986, we opened our first
big store (5100 square feet) in the shopping center at 5015
Cottage Hill Road at the intersection of Demetropolis Road.
In February of 1991, Sally Adams Trufant, Bill's
sister, joined the business as General Manager. In July of
that same year, she helped the family move the Cottage Hill
Road store and the corporate offices into one giant location
(14,400 square feet) in the same shopping center at 5035
Cottage Hill Road.
In June of 1994, another of Bill's sisters, Mary F.
Trufant, was recruited from Texas to come help run the
business. She now handles all matters pertaining to money!
Bill, Sally, and Mary run the business with the
help of a superb staff, many of whom have been with the company for many
years.
